…that I have paint on my hands! *does a dance* I could not be more thrilled to be painting and working again on this beautiful home. Seriously? It brings tears to my eyes! Ha ha! Praise God that we are back in this house working!
Our old home is officially listed and we have had our first showing already! It’s so nice to be done with it and just concentrate on the actual selling part of the home rather than fixing it up! Floyd is going to take some pictures of it tomorrow so I will post those tomorrow!
Oh it is so nice to be back on here! We are working on the library. It was not our original plan, infact, we have about a zillion other projects we were going to work on first. Specifically the salon and Grady’s room. But for right now, this is a very simple project to work on that doesn’t require multiple hours at a time committed. Also, its something that I am actually able to do during the day when I get a burst of feeling well!
There are quite a few things on the to do list. This room hosts the worst looking windows in the house I think. The paint is peeling quite dreadfully and I think I will have to sand them down quite a bit. The paint on the walls is actually peeling up in some spots due to water damage and age so that will have to be scraped off. Floyd took care of removing the old wallpaper border and I can’t get over how different that looks already! There are of course multiple cracks in the plaster, many of them being on the ceiling. I wish we could afford to get this beautiful wood looking paneling to put up over the plaster so Floyd wouldn’t have to do so much cosmetic work, but right now that is way out of our budget. Only a few cracks in the walls that I plan on putting my mudding skills to work on in the next few days.
Picture time! I think Grady could sense our excitement in showing this old house some devotion! He was absolutely thrilled to be with the two of us and played along side of us the whole evening. I think he has been more in tune with the stress we’ve been experiencing lately then we realize and he was happy to be apart of such a relaxed and creative atmosphere!

Grady being sassy and climbing up on the table - He was crawling in place for this picture!

What an absolute sweetheart!
Here is a picture before we got started. I also thought it was important to finish this room so we we could unload a lot of our belongings into it. We have at least a dozen boxes that need to be unpacked into this room and out of our dining room (which is FILLED to overflowing with boxes.) Now we will have a nice completed room to start filling up!

Boxes, white shelves and fairy border!

Floyd hard at work attacking the fairies!
And here are 2/3rd’s of the book shelves painted! I’ve picked out three colors for the room that hopefully will make it very warm and inviting. Its kind of hard to see the true color of the shelves with the glaring yellow shining down upon it, but you get the general idea! This color will continue along the trim and the windows. Hopefully this weekend, after mudding some cracks, we will see the addition of new color and the subtraction of the neon yellow!

Our new and improved shelves!

My plan is to wallpaper the inside walls

Fairy-less room! Look at that stripe where it used to be! Ha ha!
So there you have it! Tomorrow night I’m hoping to get started on some of the muding that will have to occur in order for paint to continue. I’m very excited to get my hands dirty again and be able to spend a bit of time on my feet! Feeling productive is addicting!
Love to you all!
